同ギャラリーは、1968年から2001年にかけて、ソル・ルウィット（Sol LeWitt）や河原温（On Kawara）、カール・アンドレ（Carl Andre）、ジョン・バルデッサリ（John Baldessari）、ヤン・ディベッツ（Jan Dibbets）、ギルバート&ジョージ（Gilbert & George）、エド・ルシェ（Ed Ruscha）、トニー・クラッグ（Tony Cragg）など、国内外のアーティストの先駆的な作品を紹介。1968年より発行していた会報誌『bulletin』は、展覧会の告知物であったと同時に、アーティストのコンセプチュアルなアイデアを盛り込んだ実験的な作品としても機能しています。本書は、アート＆プロジェクトに関する広範なリサーチと未発表のビジュアル資料に基づき、その前衛的な活動と展覧会、刊行物など、オランダ内外にとって重要な歴史と影響力について500ページ超のボリュームで記録した大冊。

緻密で遊び心のあるブックデザインはアムステルダムを拠点とするデザインスタジオ・ハラー・ブラン(Haller Brun)、翻訳をインアザーワーズ（InOtherWords）が手がけています。

The Amsterdam gallery Art & Project (1968–2001) was pivotal to the evolution of contemporary art in the Netherlands and beyond. It presented a pioneering programme of work by national and international artists, including Charlotte Posenenske, Jan Dibbets, Gilbert & George, Stanley Brouwn, and Sol LeWitt. To advertise its shows, more than 150 bulletins were published by the gallery, which quickly became an experimental medium, incorporating the conceptual ideas of the artists and even functioning as works of art themselves. Based on extensive research and previously unpublished visual material, this large volume documents the history and influence of the Art & Project gallery. Book design: Haller Brun.
