A photobook by the photographer Daido Moriyama. This volume intersects an English translation of the 1946 short story At the Horse Races by Sakunosuke Oda, a leading figure of the Buraiha (Decadent School) in post-war Japanese literature, with 85 monochrome photographs of Osaka—the hometown of both artists—captured by Moriyama. Following previous editions featuring Osamu Dazai and Shuji Terayama, this publication marks the third instalment of a project bridging Moriyama’s photography with post-war Japanese literature. Beautifully cloth-bound and housed in a slipcase, this is a rare edition limited to 1,500 copies, signed and numbered by Daido Moriyama.
