Archive of affection, obsession / Ai Ezaki

本書は、江崎が初対面のグラフィックデザイナー・村尾雄太に、過去約10年にわたり撮影してきた写真を預け、レイアウトも完全に一任することで制作された作品である。写真家が他者とともに写真集を作る行為を通じて、江崎は自身の輪郭を客観的に捉えようと試みており、東京の風景、友人たちとの食事、セルフポートレートなど、10年間にわたる多様な経験と時間が再編成されている。制作の過程で江崎が感じた「写真を撮ること」への思索を綴ったエッセイ「偏愛の記録」を合わせて収録。

Japanese photographer Ai Ezaki handed over photographs she had taken over the past ten years to graphic designer Yuta Murao, whom she was meeting for the first time, and gave him complete control over the layout. Through the act of a photographer making a book with another person, Ezaki attempts to objectively perceive the contours of her own identity. A decade of diverse experiences and moments—scenes of Tokyo, meals with friends, and self-portraits—are reassembled and given a new structure. The book also includes "Hen'ai no Kiroku", an essay by Ezaki reflecting on her thoughts about the act of taking pictures, written during the production process.
