本作は、1976年から2003年まで運用された超音速旅客機コンコルドを捉えたもの。ティルマンスは、その未来的な形、スピード、耳をつんざくような騒音にある種の高揚を感じながら、同時にテクノロジーによって時間と距離を超越しようとする人間の欲望のイメージを見出しています。1997年の初版刊行から重版を繰り返し、ティルマンスの代表作のひとつとなった作品集。本書は2018年に発行された6th Edition。
