写真家、川島小鳥の作品集。本作は、2011年に刊行された写真集『未来ちゃん』の制作時に、ヨーロッパ各地の夏の風景のなかで撮影された写真をまとめたもの。今回、未来ちゃんの幻の夏の旅として、13年の時を経て写真集になりました。タイトルの「vocalise（ヴォカリーズ）」とは、歌詞のない母音だけで歌われる歌唱法のこと。未来ちゃんが目にする、言葉にする前の新鮮な世界そのものが一冊に綴じられています。装丁は祖父江慎＋小野朋香(cozfish)によるもの。

A new book by photographer Kotori Kawashima. This book is a collection of photographs taken in summer around Europe during the production of the photo book Mirai-chan, published in 2011. 13 years later, the photographs have been made into a photo book as part of Mirai-chan's visionary summer journey. ‘vocalise’ refers to a singing in which only vowels are used to sing without lyrics. The book contains the fresh world itself that Mirai sees before it is put into words. 

川島 小鳥 (かわしま・ことり)
写真家。早稲田大学第一文学部仏文科卒業。主な作品集に『BABY BABY』(2007)、『未来ちゃん』(2011)、『明星』(2014)、谷川俊太郎との共著『おやすみ神たち』(2014)、 小橋陽介との共著『飛びます』(2019)、『おはようもしもしあいしてる』(2020)、『（世界）²』（2021)。第42回講談社出版文化賞写真賞、第40回木村伊兵衛写真賞を受賞。
