Issue 6 of VOSTOK, a Tokyo-based independent fashion and culture magazine.
The opening cover fashion story is photographed by Takashi Homma, a leading figure in contemporary Japanese photography. Furthermore, the issue presents compelling visual narratives featuring contributions from both domestic and international artists. This includes a newly commissioned editorial shot in Tokyo by Daniel Shea—whose practice explores unique visual expressions through the motifs of urban environments and architecture—alongside works by Chou Mo and Hiroshi Isotani.
The arts and culture section comprises discourses and essays by folklorist Yasunori Shimamura, poet Yoji Arakawa, and music critic Hiroshi Egaitsu. Additionally, the publication offers a rich variety of contributions: an in-depth interview with Cyrus Goberville, Head of Cultural Programmes at the Parisian contemporary art museum Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection; a contemporary photography feature including Caroline Kist and Moe Suzuki; and a contemporary art section curated by Jin Qiuyu, which introduces artists such as Tao Hui and Laila Majid.
